Lyn Smith, of the Church of Scientology, attempts to tap community sympathy for the plight of her church in France by including references to nuclear testing and the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior (Letters, Oct 14).

What is the relevance? France sank the Rainbow Warrior, therefore it must be guilty of persecuting her religion? Stunning logic!
