April 1991: Tool was born.
November 1991: Tool signs to Zoo Entertainment.
February 1992: Tool begins their first national tour.
March 1992: Tool realeases their first EP Opiate.
June 1992: Tool hits the road with The Rollins Band and continues to tour the U.S. throughout the rest of 1992.
April 1993: Tool releases their first full length album Undertow.
Tool sells out two consecutive nights at The Church of Scientology's Celebrity Centre in Los Angeles, CA.
June 1993: Tool increases their exposure during the summer of 1993 after headliningseveral dates on Lollapalooza's eclectic second stage before moving to the main stage, mesmerizing new fans with an agressively personal and confrontational aural assault.

August 1993: MTV begins airing the ground-breaking video for "Sober", the first single from Undertow.
Undertow reaches #1 on Billobaord's Heetseakers Chart just before debuting at #92 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart.
September 1993: Undertow is certified gold in the U.S. after just six months.
November 1993: Undertow peaks on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart at #50.
December 1993: The "Sober" video wins two Billboard video Awards for "Best New Artist" and "Best Clip" in the hard rock/metal category. Tool's first single, "Sober", reaches #6 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart.
By the years end, Tool tours Europe with Fishbone and Rage Against the Machine and headlines venues in the U.S. supported by Failure.
Undertow is certified gold in Canada.
1993: Tool's "Sober" is #27 on Triple J's 1993 Hottest 100.
January 1994: Undertow is named one of the "Top 10 Records of the Year" by Entertaiment Weekly.
April 1994: Tool's second single "Prison Sex" spawns another stop motion animated video that pushes the track to it's peak #32 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart.
August 1994: Undertow is certified platinum in the U.S.
September 1994: "Prison Sex" is nominated for Best Effects at the 1995 MTV Video Awards.
January 1995: Tool is voted the "Number One Artist" readers think Spin should be covering (ahead of Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and Pearl Jam).
March 1995: Undertow is certified platinum in the New Zealand.
April 1995: Tool goes to Australia to perform at the Alternative Nation Music Festival.
September 1995: Paul D'Amour, bass player for Tool, departs band.
November 1995: Justin Chancellor, former member of U.K. band Peach joins Tool as their new bass player.
December 1995: Undertow is certified platinum in the Canada.
January 1996: Opiate is certified gold in the U.S.
May 1996: Tool enters studio to record ÆNIMA.
Dave Bottrill along with Tool produce ÆNIMA.
September 1996: Tool releases ÆNIMA, Undertow and Opiate on vinyl.
October 1996: ÆNIMA is released.
Tool begins U.S. tour.
1996: Tool's "Stinkfist" comes in at #2 on Triple J's 1996 Hottest 100.
1997: Tool's "Forty Six & 2" is #30 in Triple J's 1997 Hottest 100.
1997: Tool's "Aenema" wins an award at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards.
1998: Tool's "Stinkfist", "Sober" and "Forty Six & 2" are voted #24, #48 and #57 respecitvely in Triple J's 1998 Hottest 100 of all time.
12 December 2000: Tool releases Salival, features live and unreleased songs and all of Tool's videos.
10 May 2001: Lateralus is played in full at Club 77, Utopia Records and other places around Australia.
15 May 2001: Tool releases Lateralus.
Tool begins touring again.
2001: Tool's "Schism" comes in at #14 and "Parabola" #49 on Triple J's 2001 Hottest 100.
2001: "Schism" wins a Grammy for Best Metal Performance; up against Slipknot, System of a Down, Black Sabbath and Slayer.
