I was about to walk past the local bOrg yesterday morning on the way to work (as I often do these days) when, glancing upwards at its crappy red brick exterior, something struck me as being different, somehow out of place. It made me stop in my tracks and take another look. Staring at the facade, something just didn't look right. Then, like a 20,000 volt shock-therapy session, it suddenly hit me right between the eyes. The vertical blue-on-white SCIENTOLOGY sign, illuminated by flouroscent lights at night and visible for a block or two up Edward Street, was *gone* from the side of the building! "My Xenu! What's going on?" I exclaimed. As I continued on my merry way, I pondered the reason for this occurrence. What on Teegeeack could have happened? A couple of possible explanations inserted themselves into the still smouldering brain cells of my analytical mind: - it's been taken down for repairs after a recent personality test candidate took his evaluation personally - they're going to replace it with a multimedia Dianetics-spewing volcano like Sydney has - a university student prank has resulted in it taking up new residence outside the Brisbane city offices of the Psychologists Board of Queensland - the car park next door is about to become a building site - Fourth Invader Force techies in orbit are fooling with the damn transporter pads again! - a TR went horribly wrong ("I said move the *ashtray*, dammit!") - they can't afford the electricity bill any more - it was bad for business Ahh, that must be it! The DIANETICS sign is still there. Check the pics on David Gerard's web site at . The third and fourth shots show these signs on the side of the building last year. I have of course, as per ARSCC Directive 95863, "Changes in MEST at Enemy Installations", obtained photographic evidence of this interesting new development. A full report will be available on the usual secure channels shortly. Make sure you wear your tin foil hats. Until next time. +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Neil Muspratt SP3.07 neil@gargoyle.apana.org.au | | Brisbane Australia | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ The word "scientology" was not original to Hubbard, having been coined by philologist Alan Upward in 1907.
