Midday til 2:20pm, the biggest anti-scientology picket this Nation's Capital
has EVER SEEN occurred. There were, woo woo, 3 of us.
I had 100 copies of Wulfen's "The Human Cost" with Kristi Watcher's "Why I'm
picketting" on the reverse, and they all went to good homes, and so did at
least 50 XEMU, WHO IS flyers.
Our signs were new and improved; I had the "$cientology KILLS" on mine,
readable from 100 feet away, and MR Smith liked the "$cientology is a $cam of
Galactic Proportions" addition to his sign.
The clams were a little talkative today, maybe the effects of terror the OSA
had instilled in them last time (so they wouldn't talk) was wearing off, as it
had been a week since the last picket. We were at Cause over the street and
also CAUSED OSA's film costs to go into affluence, by giving her lots of
opportunities to get shots of us.
Joseph (downthecos@start.com.au) was a welcome new peacful
protestor, and his facts combined with ours were generally enough to create
incredulously surprised and laughing civilians wherever we went.
Two new "public" clams counterpicketted today, with the regular
bunch (OSA, Ethics, and "the other 2") plus da boss man put in an
appearance. Or he did, for a while, until it is possible my sign touched
his shoulder (I doubt it did) and he sulked, ranting assault, looking for
witnesses and slithered back into the org to call the pollice. (we then
strategically called it a day, at 2:20pm)
The 2 new counter picketters were talkative and 50% friendly, and were
addressing the issues we raised, albeit from a misguided and uninformed basis,
but that was a good sign. I bet that wont happen again, after the OSA feeds
them lurid blood sex about us, but Joseph seriously made one of them introvert,
with discussion of the placebo effect. (Good work!)
A suspicious character started asking us where we work and whether
this was sponsored by someone, but no detail was given they don't already
have on file. It could have been nothing, but it is my opinion they will
be trying new-and-improved Underhand-Tech <tm> pretty soon, to find a
weakness and kill off the regular pickets against their previously upstat
churchy wurchy. (TO OSA: It won't happen. Our activities exposing your
lies will only gather speed, gather more supporters, gather more publicity
until one day, your church is no longer recognised as one and the tax
evasion thats been going on for years will suffocate and collapse the
remaining shabby shops forcing them to close down and move out of the
country. It's a promise. No Clear planet for you guys, not until
$cientology the International $cam is a fading memorable horror story used
to discipline children in place of the boogeyman.)
