GUEST of HONOUR

Cec, in his 79th year, is extremely keen to meet up with as many Staff and Students as possible. Cec's remarkable association with the Marconi School of Wireless commenced as a student in Sydney in February 1937, Junior Instructor in Melbourne April 1939 and ultimately the position of Manager, Marconi School of Wireless in January 1949, Retirement came in 1981 with the closure of the School.

The PROGRAM

Predinner drinks will be served on arrival, with ample time for reunion yarning. Lunch will be served at the table. Various speakers will lubricate the nostalgia with yarns of good times at sea, the broadcasting, television and radio commmunications industries, and probably some ham radio too. Recollections offered with letters already received suggest there is many a good yarn to be spun, any volunteers? A special presentation from all Students and Staff will be made to Cec. Plenty of time will be available for personal communications. Part of the function will be video taped and all attending will receive a professionally edited video tape of highlights of the afternoon. Further, a booklet will be produced containing names of those attending, apologies received and some most interesting information about Cec and the School.

CAN YOU HELP?

1) A display of memorabilia is proposed to support the afternoons events. The history of the Marconi School of Wireless is far from compete and all are requested to delve into family achrives for pictures, newspaper articles, forms, advertising brochures, equipment, or anything you think could be displayed and be included in the proposed booklet and video. Memories of the School, Students and Staff are rapidly disappearing!
2) As you will appreciate, the achievement of a successful function will require significant personal contributions, if you would like to play a part in the organising please indicate so in your response.
3)The 75 names gathered so far is probably only scratching the surface of those interested, please give serious thought to anyone else you know with a school association, and pass on this invitation and response form.
