Foundation Licence Course – Information Sheet

The Fishers Ghost Amateur Radio Club (FGARC), together with the Liverpool & District Amateur Radio Club (LADARC), conducts training courses for the Foundation Amateur Radio Licence.

When: The training courses are held over the two days i.e. on a Saturday and a Sunday (9am-5pm) normally in Campbelltown. Courses are held on a regular basis with an optimum class size of around 6 candidates. Delay in registering your interest may mean missing the next course. The teaching sessions are presented by volunteer members from both clubs.

Where: Campbelltown Performing Arts High School, 1st. floor, M Block (2 story brick building) Beverley St. (off Chamberlain St.), Campbelltown, unless advised differently.

Requirements: If you want to do the Foundation Licence Course and sit the written and practical examinations you will need to take the following steps:

  1. Register your interest by either contacting Wal Kelly at FGARC on Tel: 4626 8423 or by email to vk2zwk@wia.org.au or Garry Barker at LADARC on Tel: 9896 5763 (h) after 7.00 pm Mon-Fri or by email to vk2tsr@bigpond.com .

  1. Purchase the Foundation Course Manual. It is highly recommended that candidates read the manual at least twice before attending the course. Manuals are available from either FGARC or LADARC at a cost of $25.00 plus $3.00 postage (if applicable).

  1. You will be notified of the date of the next course. If you accept this date to do your course, complete the attached registration form and mail, together with payment of $30.00, to FGARC, PO Box 35N, Campbelltown North, NSW 2560, or LADARC at Box 4 Bathurst Street, Greystanes, NSW 2145, or deliver by hand after phone arrangement. Direct deposit is also available.

Note: The course registration fee covers the costs incurred by FGARC and LADARC in holding the course, and is based on 6 candidates attending the course. If you agree to attend on the dates advised but then find you can’t make it, and a replacement candidate is not found, FGARC & LADARC reserve the right to refuse to refund the Course Registration Fee.
