From an anonymous visitor to Melbourne. (And just in time for the Melbourne
Org page I'm finally getting around to doing!)


:The other weekend I had some time to spare in Melbourne city
:so I decided to go down to the scientology building to see
:what the fuss was about. This was about 3 pm on a Saturday.
:I must have got them in a lull, as I only saw 2 staff (not at the
:same time) who both gave me a small spiel but seemed
:happy to let me just browse the store. No hard sell I'm afraid.
:I should have dressed in more expensive clothes possibly.
:I didn't take the personality test (I suspect I already have one)
:but that joy can wait for another visit I think.

:The staff seemed reasonably cheerful ... but fairly
:disinterested in me. Like normal sales staff
:who don't care that much for their jobs. They were hardly
:around that much either, I was practically alone
:except for a small Indian man with a bag of shopping
:by his side doing the personality test near the entrance.

:Actual staff seemed to be a middle-aged woman
:who wanted me to take the personality test but didn't
:push it and a younger somewhat overweight man who
:just asked if there was anything he could help me with.
:They approached me at different times, with a period
:when I was alone between them. The man was the last to
:talk to me, then went out the back.

:I told them both that I was just looking around and they
:seemed happy to let me. I flicked through one of the
:many copies of "Dianetics", wandered round the bookshelves
:and had a good ole gawk at things. I've experienced
:a lot more sales pressure from Cable TV salesmen.
:Maybe they all had other better things to do. It certainly
:seemed that way. There was a video for Dianetics running that
:I watched for a while as well. If this is a trap for anyone,
:they aren't making much of an effort to spring it these days.

:I don't mind you using this in a.r.s if you want, but please
:don't include my name. I don't particularly need any harassment
:(well, who does?) and harrassment would cut into my
:busy schedule of planning and executing the degradation of
:all mankind *buzz ... more assignments coming in from my
:Psychiatric Masters ... I hear and obey*
